Snapchat's two kinds of accounts
Most Snapchat users have a private account with friends. Creators and businesses can switch on a public profile, which shows a subscriber count, lets anyone subscribe without being added as a friend, and lets you post to Spotlight and public Stories. Follower services work only on public profiles, because that's where the subscriber count exists.
Why the number matters
Snapchat's audience in India is young and concentrated in metros: college students in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Brands targeting Gen Z, creators who post Spotlight clips and campus influencers use public profiles. When someone views your profile from a Spotlight video, the subscriber count tells them whether you're worth following.
Public profile setup
In Snapchat, open your profile, tap the gear icon and create a public profile if you haven't. Make sure “Show subscriber count” is turned on, or the count can't be tracked. Your share link looks like snapchat.com/add/username or snapchat.com/@username.
Prices
On the default option, 500 followers cost ₹2,249.50, 1,000 cost ₹4,499 and 5,000 cost ₹22,495. Snapchat options are fewer and slower than Instagram ones. See the table for start time, speed and refill, updated 24 Oct 2026.
Followers aren't friends
Subscribers don't appear in your friends list and don't send you snaps. They raise the public subscriber count. Your private snaps to friends are unaffected.
Spotlight still decides reach
Snapchat's Spotlight feed recommends videos based on how viewers engage, not on subscriber count alone. Post vertical videos under 60 seconds with a quick hook, trending sounds and captions. Subscribers help viewers trust your profile after a Spotlight clip lands.
Drops
Snapchat removes fake accounts, and some followers may drop. Use options with a refill period and tap Refill on the order page if the count falls within the window.
Placing the order
Paste your public profile link, choose a quantity between 1 and 10,000, and pay. On the default option, 1,000 followers take about a few hours to 2 days.
Paying and tracking
Top up by UPI from any app. The order page shows progress. Undelivered followers are refunded to your wallet automatically.
Example: a campus fashion brand
A Delhi University student starts a streetwear label and uses a Snapchat public profile to post outfit Spotlights shot around Hudson Lane. With 120 subscribers, the profile looked new when a Spotlight clip took off. Before the next drop, she orders 1,500 followers and posts three Spotlights a week. Students who find her clips see an established label and subscribe.
Snapchat for local businesses
Cafés, gyms, salons and clothing stores near colleges use Snapchat public profiles and location-based features to reach students. Snap Map shows public Stories posted at a location, and a café whose public Stories appear on the map can pull in nearby students. A public profile with a believable subscriber count makes students more likely to subscribe after spotting you on the map or in a friend's Story.
Keep posting after the order
Subscribers see your public Stories and Spotlights in their feed. A profile that stops posting after an order gains nothing from it. Plan at least a few Spotlights a week and a daily public Story; that's the content that turns a subscriber count into real viewers.
