The like count sits beside the title on every watch page. Since YouTube hid public dislike counts, likes are the main visible sign that viewers approved of a video. A how-to with 12,000 views and 9 likes looks like it disappointed people. Likes also count as an engagement signal in YouTube's systems, alongside watch time, comments and shares.

How many likes look right
On Indian channels, 2–5 likes per 100 views is a normal range for long videos; tutorials and music can go higher, news and compilations lower. If a video has 4,000 views, 100–200 likes looks natural. 2,000 likes on 4,000 views looks bought. When you order views, add likes in proportion.
When to order
In the first day after upload, when YouTube is deciding how to recommend the video and when early visitors judge it. Likes on older videos help the channel's back catalogue look healthy before a sponsor checks it.
Likes and the algorithm
