What paid traffic is good for
A new Shopify store, a landing page or a blog with no visitors can't test anything. You don't know if Google Analytics is firing, whether the page loads fast on a ₹9,000 Android phone, or whether your heatmap tool records properly. Paid visits let you check the plumbing, see your analytics working and show early activity before real campaigns start.
What it is not
Paid visitors don't buy, don't fill forms and don't improve Google rankings. Google doesn't rank pages by visitor counts. Ad networks like AdSense prohibit invalid traffic on pages with ads, so never send paid traffic to pages showing ads; it can get your ad account suspended.
Choosing an option
Indian traffic shows as visitors from India in analytics, which suits Indian businesses checking location reports. Search-referred options arrive as if from a search engine with a keyword you choose. Social-referral options arrive from Facebook, Instagram or YouTube referrers. Mobile options use mobile user agents. Each option states visit duration and how the visits are spread.
Setting it up properly
Enter the exact URL you want visited, including https://. Make sure the page loads without a login wall or a pop-up that blocks everything. Tag the URL with UTM parameters if you want to separate these visits from real traffic in your analytics.
Example: testing a new store
A Tiruppur athleisure brand launches its Shopify store and orders a few thousand Indian visits to the collection page over three days. In GA4 the team checks events, sees that the size-guide button isn't being tracked and fixes it before spending on Meta ads. That's the right use: test the setup, then pay for real customers.
Reading the results honestly
Paid visits will show high bounce rates or very uniform time-on-page compared with real visitors, and they don't convert. Don't let them distort decisions: filter them out of conversion reports using the UTM tag you added, and judge real marketing only on real traffic. If you need buyers, the right next step after testing is Google Ads, Meta ads or SEO, which bring people who actually want what you sell.
