Why Quora is big in India
India is Quora's largest market. Questions like “Which is the best coaching for SSC CGL in Patna?” or “Is a career in UI design worth it?” get thousands of views a month, and they rank on Google too. Coaching institutes, consultants, edtech founders and career counsellors answer these questions to get leads.
Upvotes move answers up
Quora orders answers on a question partly by upvotes. A thoughtful answer posted late sits under older ones until it collects upvotes. Paid upvotes help a strong answer climb to where people actually read it. Answer views make the answer look read; followers build your profile's credibility for future answers.
What makes it work
The answer has to be good: specific, honest, with real numbers and no hard sell. Upvotes on a promotional answer don't stop readers from downvoting it or Quora from collapsing it. Link to your site only where it adds something.
Links
Upvotes, views and shares need the answer link (open the answer and copy its link, which includes /answer/). Followers need your profile link (quora.com/profile/YourName).
Example: a Kota coaching centre
A physics teacher at a Kota coaching centre writes a detailed answer on how to plan the last 60 days before JEE Main, with a real weekly timetable. It's the 14th answer on a popular question. A modest upvote order lifts it into the top three, and the answer keeps bringing profile visits and website clicks for months.
Picking the right questions
Answer questions that already get views, not brand-new ones. On Quora, check a question's follower count and how many views the top answers have; a question with 400 followers and answers with 50,000 views is worth your time. Write the answer in a way that stands alone, with headings or numbered steps, and add one relevant image. Spaces are also popular in India: posting in an active Space about UPSC, IT careers or personal finance gets your content in front of its followers.
