Vimeo is a portfolio platform
Indian wedding studios in Udaipur, Jaipur and Kolkata, ad filmmakers in Mumbai, animation and VFX studios in Hyderabad and Pune, and independent short-film makers use Vimeo because it's ad-free, plays in high quality and looks professional when embedded on a website or sent to a client. When a couple, brand manager or festival programmer opens the link, the view count sits right there. A showreel with 23 views quietly suggests nobody else has hired you.
What views change
Views raise the play count on the Vimeo page and on embeds that show it. They don't add likes, comments or followers. If a client looks at the film's likes too, add a few genuine ones by sharing the link with past clients, or keep the like count hidden in the video's settings.
Prices
On the default option, 1,000 Vimeo views cost ₹149 and 5,000 cost ₹745. Vimeo views cost more than YouTube views because the supply is smaller. See the table, updated 24 Oct 2026.
Privacy settings matter
The video must be public to receive views. Videos set to private, “only people with the password” or “only me” can't be reached. Unlisted videos, which are hidden but viewable with the link, may not work with every option; check the card. If you normally keep client films unlisted, consider making your showreel public.
Getting the link
Copy the video's public URL: vimeo.com/123456789. Showcase links and review links won't work for views.
Which films to promote
Your showreel, your two or three best films, and the film you send to every enquiry. Don't spread views across 40 films; focus on the ones clients actually watch.
Embeds on your website
Most studios embed their Vimeo films on their own website. Vimeo counts plays from embeds in the video's total, and depending on your player settings, the view count may show in the player. If you embed your showreel on your homepage, a believable view count on the Vimeo page supports the impression your website makes when a client clicks through to Vimeo to watch in full screen.
Festival submissions
Short-film makers often submit to festivals using Vimeo links. Many festivals ask for private, password-protected screeners, which can't receive views and shouldn't, since programmers judge the film, not the count. Use views on your public trailer or teaser instead, which is what audiences and press see.
Placing the order
Paste the link, choose a quantity between 100 and 10,00,000, and pay. On the default option, 1,000 views take about about 3 hours.
Make the portfolio page convert
Use a clear profile photo, a one-line description such as “Destination wedding films, Udaipur and Jaipur”, a showcase with your best five films and contact details. Name films by client type and place so people can find relevant work. Views help, but a tidy portfolio turns a view into an enquiry.
Paying and tracking
Top up by UPI from any app. The order page shows progress. Undelivered views are refunded to your wallet automatically.
Example: an Udaipur wedding studio
A destination-wedding studio in Udaipur sends its 3-minute highlight reel to every enquiry. It adds 3,000 views to the reel and to two recent palace-wedding films. Couples comparing studios see films that have clearly been watched, and the studio lets the work itself do the selling.
