Reactions on Pinterest
Pinterest lets people react to pins with a heart and similar icons, separately from saving them to a board. Reactions appear on the pin and in the pin's stats. They tell browsers that others liked the pin, which makes a product photo, recipe or design look appreciated. Saves remain the stronger signal for Pinterest search, so reactions work best alongside them.
Who orders pin reactions
Designers and makers pinning their work, D2C brands with product pins, bloggers pinning articles, and anyone building a Pinterest presence where pins look quiet. Reactions are often ordered for the same pins that receive saves.
How many reactions look natural
Pins usually collect fewer reactions than saves, because saving is Pinterest's main action. A pin with 200 saves looks natural with a few dozen reactions. Hundreds of reactions on a pin with three saves looks odd.
Getting the link
Open the pin, tap the share icon and copy the link (pinterest.com/pin/123…). The pin must be public.
Which pins to choose
Your best-performing or most important pins: hero product images, signature designs, popular recipes or guides that link to your website. Reactions on a pin nobody will see help little.
Example
A Kolkata terracotta-jewellery maker pinned close-up photos of her best necklaces, each linking to her online shop. The pins were starting to get saves but showed no reactions. She added 80 reactions and 200 saves to each of her ten best pins. Browsers who found the pins in search saw designs others had loved and saved, and visits from Pinterest to her shop rose steadily.
Pair with saves
For discovery and search ranking, saves matter more. Use reactions to make pins look appreciated, and saves to help them be found.
Pinterest takes time
Pins can keep bringing traffic for months. Expect results to build gradually rather than overnight.
Make pins worth reacting to
Vertical images, good light, clear titles with search keywords, and a useful description. Pins that look like magazine photos get more real reactions.
Business accounts
Reactions work on pins from personal and business accounts. Business analytics show engagement by pin.
What reactions won't do
They won't bring website visits on their own. They make a good pin look loved; saves and search bring visitors.
Settings
Keep the pin public and don't delete or re-upload it during delivery.
Privacy
Only the public pin link is needed, never your password.
Payment and refunds
Top up by UPI from any app; the price shown is final. If the pin is removed mid-delivery, the undelivered reactions are refunded to your wallet automatically.
Pinterest in Indian planning
Indian users come to Pinterest with a plan: a wedding, a new flat, a festival, a trip, a wardrobe refresh. They react to pins that match their taste and save pins they'll act on. For businesses, that means pins with reactions and saves sit in front of people who are about to spend money, which is why even modest engagement on the right pins can lead to real enquiries.
Seasonal timing
Searches for festive décor, outfits and gifts rise several weeks before Diwali, Durga Puja, Onam, Eid and wedding season. Add reactions and saves to your seasonal pins four to six weeks ahead, so they're already looking popular when the searches begin and Pinterest is deciding which pins to show.
Spread across pins
Instead of putting all reactions on one pin, spread them across your ten or twenty best pins. Visitors browsing your boards see consistent appreciation, and more of your pins get a chance to rank.
