How playlist plays work
Instead of targeting one track, playlist plays listen through a playlist, spreading streams across its songs. Artists and labels sometimes use this on their own playlists, which mix their tracks with others in the genre, so that listening looks like it comes from a playlist rather than from direct plays on one song.
Every track in the playlist is affected
If your playlist includes other artists' songs, those artists receive artificial streams too. That can put them at risk with Spotify and their distributors, through no choice of their own. Only use playlist plays on a playlist made entirely of tracks you own or have the rights holders' agreement for.
Risks
Spotify detects artificial streaming at the playlist and track level. It can remove streams, withhold royalties, charge distributors and remove playlists that send artificial traffic. Keep orders modest, gradual, and on playlists you fully control.
Prices
On the default option, 1,000 playlist plays cost ₹149 and 5,000 cost ₹745. See the table for how plays are spread and how fast, updated 24 Oct 2026.
Getting the right link
Open the playlist, tap ⋯ → Share → Copy link to playlist: open.spotify.com/playlist/… . The playlist must be public.
Placing the order
Paste the playlist link, choose a quantity between 1,000 and 10,00,00,000, and pay. Plays appear in Spotify for Artists for each track with the usual delay.
A better use of your playlist
A playlist of your own catalogue, such as “Best of [your name]” or “This Is”-style collections, is a good thing to share with fans after gigs and in your bio. Real fans who play it all the way through send the kind of listening signal no order can match. Update it with each release and pin it to your artist profile as your Artist Pick.
Paying and tracking
Top up by UPI from any app. The order page shows progress. Undelivered plays are refunded to your wallet automatically.
Example: a label's catalogue playlist
A small Mumbai indie label makes a playlist of only its own artists' releases, with every artist's agreement. It orders a modest number of playlist plays over two weeks, pins the playlist on each artist's profile and shares it at the label's showcase gig. Fans who follow the playlist discover the label's other artists, which is the real point.
Playlist plays versus track plays
Track plays put every stream on one song. Playlist plays spread a similar number of streams across many songs, so each track gets fewer, and the source shows as a playlist in Spotify for Artists. Artists choose playlist plays when they want listening to look like it's coming from a curated context rather than direct plays. The trade-off is that your focus track gets only a share of the total, so you need a larger order for the same effect on one song.
Order and length of the playlist
Playlist plays usually follow the playlist's order, and some options shuffle. Put your most important track near the top, and keep the playlist reasonably short, 10–30 tracks, so plays aren't spread too thin. Very long playlists dilute every track's share.
