Read this before ordering Spotify plays
Spotify actively detects and removes artificial streams. Its policies say it may withhold royalties, remove play counts, and in serious cases take tracks down. Since 2024, Spotify has also charged labels and distributors per track when it detects significant artificial streaming, and some distributors pass that on to artists or remove their releases. That makes Spotify riskier than most platforms we serve. If your release is distributed through a service like DistroKid, TuneCore or CD Baby, read their artificial-streaming policy too.
What plays still do
Play counts are public on a track once it passes 1,000 streams, and they're shown on your artist page's Popular list. An independent release sitting at “<1,000” looks unheard to playlist curators, bookers and other artists you pitch. Plays can lift a track past that line and make a release look like it found listeners, which helps when you approach curators, venues and collaborators.
Prices
On the default option, 1,000 plays cost ₹49, 5,000 cost ₹245 and 10,000 cost ₹490. Premium plays, which come from Premium accounts, cost more. Every option's start time and daily speed are in the table, updated 24 Oct 2026.
Plays don't pay
Spotify pays royalties on real listening, and since 2024 it only pays on tracks with at least 1,000 streams in the previous 12 months, with artificial streams excluded. Paid plays won't generate meaningful income, and Spotify may claw back royalties linked to them. Treat any order as promotion, not earnings.
Keeping risk low
Order modest numbers, gradually, so plays look like a release finding an audience rather than a spike. Don't order on every track; one focus track per release is enough. Never combine plays from several sellers on one track. Promote the track genuinely at the same time: Instagram Reels with the hook, a YouTube lyric video, sharing in WhatsApp groups, and pitching to Spotify's editors through Spotify for Artists before release.
Getting the right link
In Spotify, tap ⋯ on the track → Share → Copy Song Link. It looks like open.spotify.com/track/… . Album and playlist links are for other services. The track must be live, not a pre-save link.
Placing the order
Paste the track link, choose a quantity between 500 and 2,00,00,000, and pay. On the default option, 1,000 plays take about about 5 hours. Spotify updates public play counts with a delay, usually daily, so the counter won't move in real time.
What to check in Spotify for Artists
Spotify for Artists shows streams, listeners, sources and countries. Paid plays will show up with their own patterns. Use that data honestly: when you judge which tracks connect with fans, look at saves, playlist adds and listeners from your own promotion, not raw streams.
Paying and tracking
Top up by UPI from any app. The order page shows progress as we track it. If delivery ends short, the undelivered plays are refunded to your wallet automatically.
Example: an indie Hindi single
A singer-songwriter in Dehradun releases a Hindi acoustic single through a distributor. After two weeks it has 420 streams from friends and family. She orders 1,500 plays delivered over a week, posts three Reels using the chorus, and pitches the track to independent Hindi playlist curators. The track page now shows a real play count, which makes curators more willing to listen.
