Why monthly listeners matter
Monthly listeners is the headline number on every Spotify artist page. Bookers, promoters, labels and brand partners in India look at it first. An artist with 180 monthly listeners looks like a beginner; at 12,000 they look like an artist with an audience. It's also the number artists quote in press kits and festival applications.
How the number works
Spotify counts unique listeners across all your tracks over a rolling 28-day window. That means it rises and falls: listeners from an order will drop out of the count about four weeks after they last played your music. Monthly listener orders are temporary by nature. If you need the number high for a specific date, such as a festival application deadline, time the order to finish a week or two before it.
Risks
Spotify detects artificial listening and can remove it, withhold royalties and charge your distributor. Monthly listener services are artificial listening spread across many accounts, so the same risks apply as with plays. Keep orders modest and don't run them continuously.
Prices
Monthly listener options start from ₹699. On the default option, 1,000 listeners cost ₹699. Options state whether they need an artist link or a track link. See the table, updated 24 Oct 2026.
Be honest with partners
If a promoter or label books you based on monthly listeners, they're expecting real people to show up or stream. Inflating the number to land a deal you can't deliver on damages your reputation quickly in a small industry. Use listeners to avoid looking like a beginner, and give partners honest expectations.
Getting the right link
For artist-level options, copy your artist profile link: open.spotify.com/artist/… . For track-based options, use a track link. The option card says which it needs.
Placing the order
Paste the link, choose a quantity between 1,000 and 50,00,000, and pay. Monthly listeners update in Spotify with a delay of a day or two.
Grow real monthly listeners
Release music regularly; every release reaches your followers through Release Radar. Collaborate with artists who have bigger audiences, since features show your name on their tracks. Get on playlists, both editorial and independent. Play live and put your Spotify QR code on screen.
Paying and tracking
Top up by UPI from any app. The order page shows progress. Anything not delivered is refunded to your wallet automatically.
Example: a festival application
A Bengaluru electronic duo applies to a music festival whose form asks for Spotify monthly listeners. Their real number is around 900 after a quiet month. They order 3,000 monthly listeners to finish a week before the deadline, and in the application they describe their real audience: gig attendance, their mailing list and their best-performing release.
Monthly listeners versus followers
Followers stay; monthly listeners reset every 28 days. Followers get your new releases in Release Radar, which makes them more valuable over time. If you have a limited budget, consider building artist followers alongside listeners, so your next release reaches more people automatically. Both numbers appear on your artist page.
