What Spotify artists usually want
A profile that doesn't look empty when promoters and fans search, more listeners on new releases, and a shot at Release Radar, Discover Weekly and editorial playlists. Only the first of these can be bought safely. The rest come from real listeners.
Safe and risky Spotify services
Safe-ish: artist followers and playlist followers, because they don't add streams. Risky: plays, monthly listeners, saves and playlist plays, because they all stream your tracks, and artificial streaming can lead your distributor to remove releases and withhold royalties.
The royalty threshold
Spotify pays royalties only on tracks with at least 1,000 streams in the previous twelve months, and artificial streams don't count. Buying plays to reach the threshold doesn't work and can risk the release.
What we'd order
1. Artist followers if your profile looks empty next to your Instagram.
2. Instagram Reel views on clips of the song in release week.
3. YouTube Shorts views on the hook clip.
4. YouTube views on the music video, if the channel isn't monetised.
Release plan
Pitch the track to Spotify's editors through Spotify for Artists at least seven days before release. Set up a Countdown Page or pre-save link. Add a Canvas loop. Post teaser Reels before release and hook Reels after, with the Spotify link sticker.
Example: a Mumbai indie-pop duo
A Mumbai indie-pop duo has 3,000 Instagram followers and 120 Spotify followers. Before their third single, they order 600 Spotify artist followers, pitch the single, and post four Reels of the chorus in release week with 3,000 views each. Real listeners from the Reels save the track, it appears in their followers' Release Radar, and a Spotify editorial playlist picks it up in week two.
Distributor terms
DistroKid, TuneCore, CD Baby and Indian distributors all have artificial streaming clauses. Read yours before ordering anything that touches streams.

Genre guides
We have separate guides for desi hip-hop, Punjabi, devotional and independent artists.
Our recommendation
Use the panel for artist followers and clip views, never for streams on a release you care about.
Getting started
Top up ₹100 by UPI and start with artist followers on your profile.
JioSaavn, Apple Music and others
Most Indian distributors deliver your music to JioSaavn, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music and Spotify together. JioSaavn has a large audience for Indian music, especially Hindi, Punjabi and regional film-style songs. The same rules apply: these platforms filter artificial streams too, so promote your music to real listeners on all of them.
Playlist curators
Many independent playlist curators in India run genre and language playlists. Pitch politely with one track and a line about it. Never pay curators who promise a number of streams; that's usually artificial streaming under another name, and it puts your release at risk.
Collaborations
A feature with another artist, or a remix from a producer in a different scene, puts your song in front of their listeners on the same day. Release on both profiles and promote together. It's one of the most reliable ways for independent Indian artists to grow real monthly listeners.
