What broadcast channels are
A broadcast channel is a one-to-many chat inside Instagram DMs. The creator posts text, photos, voice notes and polls; members read and react but can't reply in the thread. Instagram shows the channel on your profile and invites followers to join. The member count is visible to anyone who looks at the channel.
Why members matter
Followers who see a new channel decide whether to join partly by its size. A channel with 25 members looks like an experiment; one with 1,500 looks like a place where real updates happen. For creators who use the channel for early access, drop alerts or behind-the-scenes updates, a believable member count gets real followers to join.
Prices
Options start from ₹10. On the default option, 500 members cost ₹124.50 and 1,000 cost ₹249. See the table for start time, speed and refill, updated 24 Oct 2026.
Getting the invite link
Open your broadcast channel, tap its name, then “Invite link” or share, and copy the link. The order box needs that channel link, not your profile link. The channel must be open for followers to join.
How many to order
Broadcast channels usually hold a fraction of a creator's followers, often 2–10%. A 20,000-follower creator with 1,000 channel members looks normal. Ordering members larger than your follower count looks odd.
Content that keeps real members
Post things followers can't get in the feed: early announcements, discount codes, polls on what to post next, quick voice notes. Two to four posts a week is plenty. Members mute channels that post constantly or only promote.
Drops
Members can leave channels or be removed with their accounts. Options with a refill period can be refilled from the order page within the window.
Placing the order
Keep the account public, paste the channel's invite link, choose a quantity between 10 and 10,00,000 and pay. The order page shows progress.
Example: a sneaker reseller
A Mumbai sneaker reseller with 14,000 followers launches a broadcast channel for drop alerts. It sits at 40 members after a day. He orders 700 members on a Stable option and posts the next drop's photos there an hour before Instagram. Real followers join as the channel shows up on his profile with a healthy count, and the early-access posts give them a reason to stay.
Promoting the channel to real followers
Instagram shows a prompt to followers when you post in a new channel, but most will miss it. Mention the channel in Stories with a link sticker, pin a post explaining what members get, and add it to your bio. Give an exclusive reason to join, such as a discount code or first look at a new collection, and say it clearly. Paid members make the channel look worth joining; the exclusive reason is what makes real followers tap Join.
Track how many real members join each week by comparing the count with what you ordered. If real joins are low, change the offer rather than ordering more.
Paying and tracking
Top up by UPI from any app, paste the invite link and place the order. The order page shows how many members have joined since the order started. Anything that can't be delivered goes back to your wallet automatically.
