Reach versus impressions
Reach is the number of different accounts that saw a post. Impressions are the total number of times it was shown, counting repeat views. A post shown three times to the same person adds one to reach and three to impressions. Instagram has been folding impressions into views for some content, but many creators and brand reports still use both, so both appear in options.
Why anyone buys them
They aren't public. Visitors can't see them on your post. They matter to the people who see your Insights: brand managers who ask for screenshots, agencies building media kits, clients who want campaign numbers. They also show up in your own analytics if you're testing how a post's numbers look before running ads.
Prices
On the default option, 1,000 reach or impressions cost ₹10, 5,000 cost ₹34.50 and 10,000 cost ₹69. Some options deliver reach and impressions together, others one or the other; the option card says which. Prices updated 24 Oct 2026.
A word on honesty with brands
If you share Insights with a brand to win a paid collaboration, be careful. Brands increasingly check engagement quality, compare reach with likes and saves, and some use tools that flag unusual patterns. Inflated reach that doesn't convert into engagement can cost you the relationship. Use these services to smooth uneven numbers, not to claim an audience you don't have, and never misrepresent paid results in a contract.
Keeping numbers consistent
Reach on a typical post for an active account is often 20–60% of followers; Reels can reach many more. Likes are usually a few percent of reach. If you add 20,000 reach to a post with 50 likes, the ratio looks wrong in Insights. Add likes and saves in proportion if the numbers will be reviewed.
Placing the order
Business or creator accounts show Insights; personal accounts don't, so switch if you want to see the figures. Keep the account public, paste the post or Reel link, choose a quantity between 10 and 10,00,000, and pay. Insights can take a while to refresh after delivery.
When reach is the wrong purchase
If your goal is to look popular to visitors, buy the visible numbers: views, likes, followers. Reach and impressions only change what's in Insights. If you want real reach from real people, a small boosted post through Instagram's own ads, targeted to your city, will do more.
Example: an agency's monthly report
A Kolkata agency runs Instagram for a restaurant chain. One month, a big cricket match day buried the chain's best post and its reach was far below normal, skewing the monthly report. The agency added 6,000 reach and some likes to bring that post closer to the account's usual numbers, and explained the adjustment to the client in the report.
Reading your own Insights after an order
After delivery, Insights will show higher reach and impressions, and probably a larger share of accounts reached who don't follow you. When you analyse which posts work, compare likes, saves, shares and profile visits instead, because those still reflect only real behaviour. Keep a note of which posts had paid reach so you don't mistake them for organic hits when planning content.
