What bookmarks signal
A bookmark means “this is useful, I'll need it later”. On X, bookmarks are a quiet but strong signal: threads with lots of bookmarks are usually guides, resources and lists that people reference. X shows the bookmark count on posts, and its ranking treats saves as a sign of value, similar to how Instagram treats saves.
Posts that suit bookmarks
Threads with steps: how to file ITR as a freelancer, how to prepare for a coding interview in 30 days. Lists of tools, books, scholarships or free courses. Templates and checklists. Data threads with charts. If a reader would screenshot it, it should be bookmarked, and paid bookmarks on such posts look natural.
Prices
On the default option, 50 bookmarks cost the live price, 100 cost the live price and 500 cost the live price. See the table, updated 24 Oct 2026.
Ratios
On useful threads, bookmarks can approach or exceed likes. On opinions and jokes they're much lower. Match the order to the post: a guide with 200 likes can carry 100–300 bookmarks; a hot take with 200 likes looks odd with 300.
Threads: bookmark the first post
Readers bookmark threads from the first post, so put the order there. That's also the post that appears in feeds and gets shared.
Placing the order
Copy the post link (x.com/handle/status/…), paste it, choose a quantity between a small and a large, and pay. The account must be public.
Make it worth saving
Lead with the promise: “14 free government courses with certificates (2026 list) 🧵”. Number each post in the thread. End with a summary and an offer to answer questions. Keep facts current; outdated guides lose trust fast.
Paying and tracking
Top up by UPI from any app. If the post is deleted or the account goes private, the undelivered bookmarks are refunded to your wallet automatically.
Example: a scholarship thread
A Delhi education counsellor posts a thread listing 20 scholarships open to Indian undergraduates, with deadlines and links. She orders 150 bookmarks and 120 likes on the first post. Students seeing it in their feed notice it's been widely saved, bookmark it themselves, and share it in college groups.
Bookmarks for creators building authority
Educators, consultants and analysts on X build authority with reference threads that people keep returning to. A high bookmark count on those threads tells new readers the content is trusted, and it's often the metric creators quote when describing their best work. Keep a pinned thread on your profile that's worth bookmarking, and refresh it every few months with updated information.
Bookmarks plus likes
A thread with many bookmarks but very few likes can look odd, even though useful threads often have high bookmark ratios. Add a modest number of likes too, and some views, so the post looks read, liked and saved. Encourage real readers by ending with “Bookmark this for later” on the final post.
Bookmarks on client accounts
Agencies managing X for brands can use bookmarks on resource posts, such as guides, size charts, FAQs and how-tos, to show clients that their useful content is being saved. Report paid engagement transparently in client reports.
Timing
Order bookmarks in the first hour after posting a thread, alongside likes, so the thread looks valued while it's still in people's feeds. Bookmarks on older threads help when you pin them or share them again, because readers see the save count before deciding to read.
