Why the listener count matters
X Spaces are live audio rooms. When a Space starts, followers see it at the top of their timeline with the number of people listening. A Space with 5 listeners gets skipped; one with 200 looks like a conversation worth joining. Indian founders, investors, cricket fans, policy commentators and crypto communities use Spaces for AMAs, debates and launch events.
How listener options work
Each option sets a number of listeners and a duration, such as 100 listeners for 60 minutes. Listeners join after the order starts and stay roughly that long. They don't speak, request to speak or react.
Prices
Space listener options start from ₹10. The table lists listener count, duration, start time and price, updated 24 Oct 2026.
Order after the Space starts
Listeners can only join a live Space. Start it, copy the Space link (x.com/i/spaces/…), then place the order. Stay live for the option's duration; ending early ends the listening too.
Run a Space people stay for
Announce it a day before and an hour before. Invite one or two well-known speakers. Have a clear topic and a host who keeps time. Bring listeners up to ask questions. Pin a post to the Space with the key link or resource you'll discuss.
Recordings
X lets hosts record Spaces for replay. Replays show their own play counts, separate from live listeners. If you plan to share the recording, mention it during the Space so listeners know they can revisit it.
Placing the order
Start the Space, paste its link, choose an option and pay. Watch the listener count in the Space as people join.
Paying and tracking
Top up by UPI before you go live. If the Space ends early or delivery stops, the undelivered part is refunded to your wallet automatically.
Example: a start-up AMA
A Hyderabad SaaS founder hosts a Space on raising a seed round in India, with an angel investor as co-host. At start time he orders 150 listeners for 75 minutes. Real founders scrolling X see an active Space at the top of their timeline, tap in, and several request to speak with questions.
Who hosts Spaces in India
Start-up founders and investors host AMAs about fundraising, hiring and product. Cricket fans host match-day Spaces during IPL and India series. Crypto and stock-market communities discuss the day's moves. Journalists and policy commentators host debates on elections, budgets and court rulings. Creators run weekly community hangouts. In every case, the first ten minutes decide whether a Space builds momentum, because X highlights Spaces that already have listeners.
Co-hosting and speakers
A Space with a well-known co-host shows up for their followers too, which brings far more real listeners than any paid order. Invite a guest whose audience overlaps with yours, agree the topic in advance, and ask them to post about the Space before it starts. Paid listeners give the opening a believable crowd; guests bring the real audience.
Scheduling
X lets you schedule a Space and lets followers set a reminder. Schedule at least a day ahead, share the link with a clear title, and pick a time when your audience is free, usually evenings after 8pm or weekend mornings for Indian audiences. Then place the listener order once the scheduled Space actually starts.
