Why shares matter
On Reels, the share count is visible beside likes and comments. A Reel with thousands of views and zero shares looks like people watched but didn't care. Shares suggest the content was useful or funny enough to send on.
Which posts suit shares
Tips and how-tos, relatable humour, local news, offers and deals, recipes, and carousels with useful lists. Content people naturally forward on WhatsApp is the content that earns shares on Instagram.
Keep proportions
Real shares are usually a small fraction of likes. A Reel with 300 likes and 100 shares is high but plausible for very useful content; 100 shares on a post with 20 likes is not.
What shares won't do
Bought shares don't create real people who received your post and watched it. Instagram's distribution follows real viewers' actions.
Example: an Ahmedabad money-tips page
An Ahmedabad finance creator posts a carousel on seven common tax-saving mistakes for salaried people. It gets 900 likes, and he adds 100 shares to match. Visitors see a carousel others have found worth sending, and real followers forward it in office WhatsApp groups as the tax-filing deadline approaches.
Finance and health content
Educational tips are fine, but avoid personalised investment advice unless you're SEBI-registered, and avoid medical claims.

Make posts worth sharing
People share posts that make them look helpful, funny or in the know. Lists of tips, money-saving deals, local news and relatable jokes travel well. Add a line like 'Send this to someone who needs it' at the end of a useful carousel. Real shares from people who found value are what push a post to new audiences, and bought shares only help the visible count.
