Account safety
X removes spam accounts in sweeps, which lowers follower counts. Accounts receiving follows are rarely locked unless they also use automation or connected apps that break the rules.
Connected apps
Many 'free followers' services ask you to authorise an app. That gives it permission to follow, post or like on your behalf, which can get you locked. Check Settings → Security and account access → Apps and sessions.
Reputation safety
Your follower list is public. Journalists, brands and other users sometimes check it. Cheap followers with default avatars look fake; better options look more normal.
Money safety
Use a panel with order tracking and automatic refunds. Avoid paying strangers via DM.
Sensible quantities
A few hundred to a couple of thousand on a new account, delivered gradually.
Verification
Paid verification doesn't protect against manipulation rules and may draw more attention to an inflated follower count.
Real growth on X
Reply early to big accounts in your niche with useful points, post threads, share data and join conversations on Indian news and cricket.
Example
A Delhi policy researcher adds 600 followers to a new account and posts daily threads on government data. Real followers arrive after one thread is quoted by a well-known journalist.
Red flags
App authorisation requests, password requests and follow-back schemes.
Bottom line
Reasonably safe with no connected apps and modest numbers.
Testing quality first
Order a small batch and open ten of the new followers. If most have no photo, no bio, no posts and handles like a name followed by eight numbers, the service is cheap bots, which look bad on a public list. Better options show accounts with avatars, bios and a few posts. Watch the count for a week to see how many drop and whether refills work before placing anything bigger.
