When the viewers' country matters
On the public counter a view is a view. The difference shows in Studio: audience geography, top cities and the language of comments. For a Bhojpuri comedy channel, a Marathi recipe channel or a Shorts channel selling to Indian customers, a Short whose views come mostly from abroad looks odd to Indian sponsors and doesn't match the people commenting.
Who orders Indian Shorts views
Regional-language creators, Indian brands cutting ads into Shorts, coaching channels posting quick exam tips, local businesses showing products, and creators pitching to Indian D2C brands that ask for audience screenshots.
What “Indian” means
YouTube doesn't tell sellers where viewers are. Indian options use India-based viewing sources; Studio usually reflects it in geography within a day or two. Treat it as India-weighted, not a census.
Use the Shorts link
Copy the link from Share on the Short itself: youtube.com/shorts/…. Shorts options deliver to the Shorts counter; regular video options may not.
How many views
Two to five times your usual Shorts views is a strong Short. If your Shorts get 400 views, 1,000–2,000 fit. Indian Shorts usually get 3–8 likes per 100 views, so add likes too.
Timing
Order within an hour or two of posting, when YouTube tests the Short with a small audience.
Example
A Nashik grape farmer started posting 30-second Marathi Shorts about irrigation and pruning. Each got about 300 views. He added 2,000 Indian Shorts views and 100 likes to his best Shorts. Studio showed viewers from Maharashtra, comments came in Marathi, and an agri-input company that sponsors farmer creators contacted him after checking his audience.
Monetisation
The Shorts route to the Partner Programme needs 10 million valid public Shorts views in 90 days and a review. Purchased views won't get you there and can be excluded. Use Indian Shorts views for audience consistency and first impressions.
Content still decides
Real viewers who watch to the end and replay keep a Short travelling. Show the payoff in the first second, add on-screen text, and loop cleanly.
Indian versus mixed views
Mixed views are cheaper and fine for content with a global audience. Pay for Indian views when geography matters to you or a sponsor.
Settings
Keep the Short public and don't delete or re-upload it during delivery.
Payment and refunds
Pay by UPI from any app. If the Short is removed or made private mid-delivery, the undelivered views are refunded automatically.
Regional language Shorts
Shorts in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi and Bhojpuri have huge audiences inside India and almost none outside it. Indian views keep the viewer mix on those Shorts believable, which matters when a regional brand or a state-level sponsor looks at your channel and expects viewers who actually speak the language in your captions.
