Why watch time drops
YouTube audits viewing continuously and removes watch time it considers invalid. Creators see this as their 12-month total going down for no obvious reason, sometimes weeks after an order completed. For a channel sitting just above 4,000 hours, a removal of a few hundred can push it back below the threshold during review.
How refill works
The order page records the hours delivered and the refill window. If Studio shows the order's hours have dropped during that window, tap Refill and the missing hours are sent again on the same videos. Each request is logged on the order.
What isn't covered
Hours lost because a video was made private, deleted, set to made-for-kids or replaced by a re-upload, and hours that simply age out of the 12-month window. Refill replaces removals, not the calendar.
Choosing the window
Monetisation reviews can take weeks. Pick a refill period that covers delivery plus the review, at least 60–90 days if available.
Monetisation, honestly
Refill reduces one risk: hours vanishing before or during review. It doesn't change what reviewers look for, which is original content and genuine audiences. We can't promise approval.
Order only the gap
Check Studio → Earn for your real 12-month hours, then order the gap plus a small buffer, spread across several long videos.
Example
A Coimbatore agri-tech channel publishing hour-long farmer interviews in Tamil had 3,400 real hours. The creator ordered 800 hours with a 90-day refill across six interviews and applied once Studio passed 4,100. During review, about 150 hours were removed; she tapped Refill, the total recovered within a week, and the channel stayed above the threshold until the decision.
Keep uploading
New uploads with real viewers are the best protection: they add genuine hours and give reviewers recent, original videos to look at.
Settings
Keep the target videos public and unchanged for the whole refill period.
Pair with retention
Options that combine retention and refill look most like genuine viewing: longer average view duration, steady daily hours and a stable total.
Check Studio regularly
Studio → Analytics → Advanced mode shows watch time by video and date. Compare it with the order page before requesting a refill.
Payment and refunds
Pay by UPI, with no GST or gateway fee added. Undelivered hours are refunded to your wallet at once; refills cover removals after delivery.
Live streams and premieres
A live stream's watch time counts only if the saved stream stays public afterwards. If you plan to run refills on a saved stream, don't trim it into a shorter video later, because trimming can change how YouTube attributes the hours, and the order page won't be able to match them.
Before you order
Note your current 12-month total in Studio and the date. Write down which videos you're targeting. If you ever need a refill, that note, together with the order page, shows exactly how much was delivered and when, and makes it easy to tell real growth apart from purchased hours.
