A size for small local Channels
Most neighbourhood businesses have a few hundred regular customers. A Channel showing 250 followers looks like that kind of business: a salon, a tiffin service, a hardware store, a dance school or a housing society's notice Channel. It's believable to the people who know you, which is what matters most.
Who orders 250
Shops printing a Channel QR code on bills, coaching centres sharing timetables with parents, gyms posting class schedules, small restaurants sharing daily specials, and residents' associations sharing notices.
Prepare the Channel
Set the photo, name and description, and post a few updates first. Decide how often you'll post, for example daily specials at 11 am or new stock on Mondays, and say so in the description.
Example
A Mangaluru tailoring shop created a WhatsApp Channel to share new fabric arrivals and festival stitching deadlines, and placed the QR code on its counter. It had 40 followers. The owner ordered 250 followers and posted fabric photos twice a week. Customers who scanned the code followed, and the Channel became the shop's main way of telling regulars about Onam and Christmas deadlines.
Channels only
This works on WhatsApp Channels, not groups or broadcast lists. WhatsApp Business Channels work too.
Pair with views
Add a few hundred post views to your first posts so the Channel looks read by its followers.
Getting the link
Open the Channel, tap its name, then Share or Copy link.
Payment and refunds
Pay by UPI from any app with nothing added at checkout. Undelivered followers are refunded to your wallet automatically.
Channels versus broadcast lists
Broadcast lists only reach people who've saved your number, and they're capped in size. Channels have no such limit, anyone can follow from a link or QR code, and followers' numbers stay private. Many small Indian businesses are moving their regular updates from broadcast lists to Channels for exactly these reasons, keeping chats and groups for individual orders.
What 250 followers won't do
They won't visit or order. They make the Channel look established enough that your regular customers follow it when you ask, and from then on the Channel's real audience grows with every customer who scans the code.
