Why 1,000 listeners
A four-figure monthly listener count is the first number many artists want on their profile, because promoters and venues glance at it. It's also the size most people search for.
Cost per listener
On the default option, about ₹0.699 per listener. Each listener is a separate account streaming your music during the window.
How the number moves
Listeners are added gradually over the 28-day window. The count peaks towards the end and falls back as the oldest streams leave the window. If you need the number on a specific date, such as a booking pitch, plan the order accordingly, but remember anyone tracking your profile will see the curve.
The risk
Every listener in the order streams your tracks, so Spotify's artificial streaming filters apply, along with the fees Spotify charges distributors and the penalties distributors can apply to you.
Example
A Kochi electronic producer had 600 monthly listeners before a festival application. Rather than buying listeners, he released a remix with a better-known DJ from Bengaluru, pitched it through Spotify for Artists and ran a ₹2,500 Instagram campaign aimed at electronic music fans in South India. Monthly listeners passed 1,000 within three weeks, from people who kept listening.
If you still order
Keep it small and on a profile without label deals or meaningful royalties. Expect the drop after 28 days.
Paying and refunds
Top up by UPI from ₹100 and pay ₹699 from your wallet. Undelivered amounts are refunded automatically; filtered streams are not.
What 1,000 listeners won't do
They won't add followers, saves or playlist placements, won't hold after the window, and won't earn royalties you keep.
Artist link
Use open.spotify.com/artist/ from Share and Copy Link to Artist.
Lower-risk option
Artist followers don't add streams. If the profile looks empty, start there.
Starter, Stable or Premium
Starter is the cheapest way to see the number rise, and the most likely to be filtered. Stable spreads streams across the window more evenly, which looks less unusual in Spotify for Artists. Premium uses the sources that hold best. All three work by streaming, so the distributor risk is the same whichever you choose; only the chance of filtering changes.
What promoters check
Promoters and booking agents often look at your top cities, your follower count and your listener history over the past few months. A profile whose listeners jump to 1,000 for one month and fall back to 300 tells its own story. A steady rise from real promotion is far more convincing, even if it's slower.
