The number everyone quotes
Every Spotify artist page shows “X monthly listeners” under the name. Festival bookers, event agencies, labels and brands quote it as shorthand for how big an artist is on Spotify. In Spotify for Artists, the same listeners are broken down by country and city, and Indian bookers increasingly ask to see that breakdown for artists they're considering.
Why Indian listeners
A Punjabi, Bhojpuri, Tamil or Marathi artist whose monthly listeners appear to come mostly from other countries tells a confusing story to an Indian promoter. Indian monthly listeners show up in your city and country data as Indian listening, matching the live audience and the comments on your YouTube and Instagram.
A 28-day number
Monthly listeners counts unique people over a rolling 28 days. When purchased listening ends, the number falls back over the following weeks. Time the order so the number peaks when it matters: an application deadline, a pitch meeting, a release week.
Risk, plainly
Monthly listeners are delivered through listening activity, so Spotify's rules on artificial streams apply, and distributors can act on them. Keep numbers in proportion to your followers and real streams, and don't stack large orders.
Right size
Indian monthly listeners fit artist pages that already have a few hundred followers and tracks with visible play counts. For a page with 12 followers and no counts, add followers and plays first.
Example
A Ludhiana Punjabi folk-pop singer was pitching to an events company that books artists for weddings across Punjab and Canada. The company asked for Spotify listener data. Her real number was 900, mostly from Punjab. Two weeks before the pitch she ordered 2,000 Indian monthly listeners and released a new wedding song. Her data showed listeners concentrated in Ludhiana, Amritsar and Jalandhar, which matched her real bookings, and she shared her live-show history alongside it.
Getting the link
Open your artist profile in Spotify, tap the three dots, then Share → Copy link to artist. It looks like open.spotify.com/artist/….
Pair with followers
Followers last; monthly listeners don't. Build followers steadily so the page looks established after the monthly-listener peak has passed.
Indian versus mixed
Mixed monthly listeners are cheaper and fine for artists with a global audience. Pay for Indian when bookers, labels or brands will look at your city data.
Honesty
If a booker or brand asks for your numbers, give them context, such as which months included promotion, along with ticket sales and live-show history.
What they won't do
They won't buy tickets or follow you. They raise the headline number for a period while you show bookers your real draw.
Payment and refunds
Pay by UPI from any app; the price shown is final. If fewer listeners are delivered than ordered, the difference goes back to your wallet automatically.
