What “real” means here
Every monthly listener is an account that played your music in the last 28 days. Basic options use empty, repetitive accounts; real-account options use accounts with listening history, playlists and varied behaviour. It doesn't mean those listeners chose your music or will return. It means the listening looks genuine in Spotify for Artists and is less likely to be filtered out.
Who chooses real-account listeners
Artists sending Spotify for Artists screenshots to labels for a signing conversation, bands applying to festivals whose bookers check source-of-streams data, and managers pitching an artist to brands that review audience quality.
A 28-day number
Monthly listeners counts unique listeners over a rolling 28 days. When the delivered listening ends, the number falls back. Plan the order around the date someone will look.
Risk
Real-account listening is less likely to be flagged, but Spotify's rules on artificial streams still apply, and distributors can act on them. Keep numbers proportionate.
Source of streams
Spotify for Artists shows where listening came from: your profile, playlists, search, other listeners' libraries. Labels look at this. Real-account options aim for a natural spread rather than everything arriving from one source.
Example
A Bengaluru indie-rock band was in talks with a Mumbai label that asked for a Spotify for Artists export before signing. The band's real monthly listeners were 2,400. A month before the meeting, it ordered 3,000 real-account monthly listeners and released a live session recording. The export showed a natural spread of listening sources, and the band also shared its ticketed-show numbers; the label offered a distribution deal.
Getting the link
Artist profile → three dots → Share → Copy link to artist (open.spotify.com/artist/…).
Pair with followers and saves
Monthly listeners, followers and saves are read together. If followers are far below listeners, add followers gradually.
Honesty with labels
If you're asked directly about promotion, answer honestly. Labels that discover inflated numbers after signing don't renew.
Real versus basic listeners
Basic monthly listeners are cheaper and fine if the only goal is the number under your name. Choose real-account listeners when someone will read the data behind it.
What they won't do
They won't follow you or come back next month. Your releases, live shows and promotion build the audience that stays.
Payment and refunds
Pay by UPI from any app. If fewer listeners are delivered than ordered, the difference is refunded automatically.
Timing the order
Because the figure uses a 28-day window and updates with a delay, order about two weeks before someone will look. The number will be close to its peak when they check, and it will still look healthy for a little while after. Ordering the day before rarely gives Spotify time to update; ordering six weeks ahead means the boost may already be fading.
