Who 250 fits
An artist with a couple of releases and a few hundred streams per song, playing open mics and small venues. A producer collaborating with local rappers. A curator who has run a playlist for a few months and wants artists to take it seriously. 250 looks like a real, small audience, which is believable at that stage.
Why followers matter
Followers sit at the top of your artist page and get your new releases in Release Radar. Bookers and curators look at followers because they last, unlike the 28-day monthly-listener figure.
Delivery
Followers arrive gradually over a day or two. Spotify updates public counts with a delay, so check again the next day.
Profile basics
A photo, bio, links and Artist Pick make a 250-follower page look like an artist rather than a placeholder.
Example
A Bhopal ghazal singer released two original ghazals and a cover. Her artist page had 40 followers. Before applying for a slot at a city literary festival's music evening, she ordered 250 followers, set the newest ghazal as Artist Pick and updated her bio with her performances. The festival's organiser opened her Spotify from the application and invited her to perform.
Playlists
For a playlist, 250 followers plus weekly updates is often enough to get the first real submissions from artists.
Keep it consistent
Tracks below 1,000 streams show a dash. Add plays to your main song so the page shows numbers everywhere.
Payment and refunds
Pay by UPI from any app with nothing added at checkout. Undelivered followers are refunded to your wallet automatically.
Release Radar and real followers
Every Friday, Spotify builds a Release Radar playlist for each listener with new music from artists they follow. That's why real followers matter so much: they are the people who will hear your next release without you paying to reach them. Use the order to make your page look started, and ask everyone who likes your music, at shows and online, to tap Follow.
Getting the link
Open your artist profile or playlist in Spotify, tap the three dots, then Share and Copy link. Artist links look like open.spotify.com/artist/… and playlist links like open.spotify.com/playlist/…. Playlists must stay public during delivery.
