A credible mid-step
500 followers looks like an artist who plays shows, has released several tracks and has a following beyond friends. It's a common number for independent artists in their second or third year, and for playlist curators whose playlists have a clear theme and regular updates.
Who orders 500
Independent artists preparing an EP, bands applying to regional festivals, producers building a profile alongside collaborations, and curators of genre playlists in Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, lo-fi or devotional music.
Delivery
Followers arrive gradually over a few days. Spotify updates counts with a delay.
Keep the page in proportion
500 followers look right alongside tracks with a few thousand streams and a few hundred monthly listeners. If your tracks are below 1,000 streams, add plays to the main ones.
Example
A Mysuru Carnatic-fusion trio was applying to a Bengaluru music festival's emerging artists stage. Their page had 160 followers and three tracks. They ordered 500 followers, added plays to their lead track, and uploaded a live session. The festival's programmer, browsing applicants' Spotify pages, saw a group that looked established for an emerging act, and they were shortlisted.
Profile basics
Keep your bio, photos and links current, and change Artist Pick with each release.
Risk
Spotify removes followers from fake or inactive accounts. Choose refill options if the count needs to hold for months.
Payment and refunds
Pay by UPI from any app. Undelivered followers are refunded to your wallet automatically.
Pitching and pre-saves
Pitch each new release to Spotify's editors through Spotify for Artists at least a week before it comes out, and run a pre-save link so fans who follow you hear it on day one. Followers you've built up, real and purchased, make the page look ready when curators and new listeners arrive, but the pitch and the pre-saves are what get the song heard.
Getting the link
Open your artist profile or playlist, tap the three dots, then Share and Copy link. Keep playlists public during delivery and don't change a playlist's name or cover while followers are arriving, so the order stays easy to check.
