Only for releases with real traction
One lakh streams is a serious number for an independent Indian release. It fits a film or web-series song whose video already has lakhs of YouTube views, a single by an artist with tens of thousands of monthly listeners, or a label's priority release with a marketing budget behind it. On a track with 3,000 real streams, a lakh purchased plays is exactly what Spotify's systems are designed to catch.
Risk, plainly
Spotify fines distributors for tracks with detected artificial streams, and distributors may take tracks down or withhold royalties. At a lakh plays, that risk is significant even with the best options. Many labels choose smaller amounts spread over several tracks instead. We can't promise any track won't be flagged.
Delivery over weeks
On the default option, a lakh plays take about about 20 days. Spread it out further if you can; don't combine it with other large orders on the same track.
Keep everything in proportion
A track with a lakh plays usually has thousands of saves, a follower count in the thousands and steady monthly listeners. Build those alongside, mostly through real promotion.

A Hyderabad music label released a Telugu film's lead song, whose lyric video passed 40 lakh YouTube views in two weeks while the Spotify version sat at 1.2 lakh streams, because most fans listen on YouTube. The label ordered 1 lakh non-drop plays over six weeks and ran Spotify links in the YouTube description and pinned comment. The Spotify count moved closer to the song's real popularity, and the label reported only verified streaming revenue to the producers.

What plays won't do
They won't earn meaningful royalties, won't trigger editorial playlists and won't build repeat listeners. Pre-release pitching, playlist outreach and promotion where your fans already are do that.
Honesty with partners
When reporting to producers, artists or investors, separate paid promotion from organic streams and lead with verified revenue.
