The risk, before the price
Spotify treats streams that don't come from real listeners as artificial streaming. It detects and removes them, doesn't pay royalties on them, and since 2024 has charged labels and distributors a fee per track when artificial streaming on that track is significant. Distributors such as DistroKid, TuneCore and CD Baby pass that risk on: they can warn you, withhold earnings or remove your music. We list US plays because people search for them, but this is a risky service, and we'd rather you know that before ordering.
Why artists want US plays
The US is Spotify's most valuable market. Indian artists aiming at American listeners, whether Punjabi artists with a large North American following, indie musicians targeting US playlists or producers pitching to US labels, want Spotify for Artists to show American cities among their top locations.
What the order does
The order adds plays to one track from accounts that appear American. Plays may show in Spotify for Artists under the US, though Spotify may filter them. They don't come with saves, playlist adds, follows or the listening behaviour Spotify's algorithm rewards.
They won't trigger algorithmic playlists
Discover Weekly, Release Radar and Radio pick tracks based on how real listeners behave: saves, repeat listens, skips, and adds to their own playlists. Plays without those signals don't help, and unusual patterns can make Spotify less likely to recommend a track.
Pricing
US plays start at ₹49 per 1,000 on the default option. US-targeted plays cost more than mixed plays.
If you still decide to order
Keep the number small, never more than a fraction of the track's real streams. Don't order on a new release you're pitching to editorial playlists. Don't order on tracks under a label deal or on an account your income depends on. Read your distributor's artificial streaming policy first.
Safer ways to reach US listeners
Pitch the track to Spotify's editors through Spotify for Artists at least a week before release, choosing your genre, mood and the US as a focus. Use Spotify's Marquee or Discovery Mode where eligible, which are Spotify's own paid tools. Run Instagram and YouTube ads targeted to US cities with large South Asian communities if that's your audience.
Example
A Punjabi artist from Mohali has a growing following in Toronto, Vancouver and California. Instead of buying plays on his new single, he pitches it through Spotify for Artists, runs a small Instagram ad campaign in California's Central Valley and Bay Area, and asks two US-based Punjabi creators to use the track in reels. US cities climb into his top listener locations within a month.
What plays won't do
They won't add saves, followers, playlist placements or royalties you can keep. They won't impress US curators who check Spotify for Artists data, which shows listener behaviour as well as plays.
Getting the link right
Copy the track link from Spotify: Share, then Copy Song Link. It looks like open.spotify.com/track/ followed by an ID. Album and playlist links won't work for this order.
Privacy
We never ask for your Spotify, Spotify for Artists or distributor login. Only the public track link is used.
Payment and refunds
Top up by UPI from ₹100 and pay from your wallet. Undelivered plays are refunded to your wallet automatically. Plays that Spotify later removes are not refunded, because that's outside our control.
Our recommendation
For almost every artist, don't buy US plays. Put the money into real promotion in the US: ads, creators and pitching. If you choose to order anyway, keep it small and on a track you can afford to lose.
