High risk, stated plainly
Spotify bans artificial streaming, filters it out and doesn't pay on it. It charges distributors when a track has significant artificial streams, and distributors can remove your music and withhold royalties. Germany is also a market where labels and booking agents study streaming data closely.
Why Germany
Germany is Europe's largest music market. Indian electronic producers, classical fusion artists and indie bands touring Germany, or working with German labels, sometimes want German cities in their Spotify for Artists listener locations.
What the order does
Plays are added to one track from accounts that appear German. If Spotify doesn't filter them, they may show under Germany in Spotify for Artists. They don't come with saves, follows or playlist adds.
German labels check data
Labels, agencies and festival bookers in Germany often use Spotify for Artists data and analytics platforms. They look at saves, listener retention and stream-to-listener ratios. Bought plays tend to stand out.

German plays start at ₹89 per 1,000 on the default option.
Safer ways to reach German listeners
Play shows; Germany has many small venues and festivals open to world and electronic music. Pitch to German editorial playlists through Spotify for Artists. Submit to German music blogs and radio, such as public broadcasters' world music and electronic shows. Work with German DJs on remixes.
Example
A Bengaluru sitar-electronica artist gets a remix from a Berlin producer and plays three club nights in Germany. Fans who saw the shows follow and save the tracks. German cities enter the artist's top locations with real listeners who come back for the next release.
If you still order
Keep the order small, and never on a track under a label contract, a release you're pitching or a track whose royalties you rely on. Check your distributor's policy first.
What plays won't do
They won't add saves, followers, playlists or royalties you keep. They won't impress German labels who check the data.

Our recommendation
Don't buy German plays for a track that matters. Remixes, shows and editorial pitching build a German audience that lasts.
The royalty threshold
A track has to reach 1,000 real streams in twelve months before Spotify pays royalties on it. Artificial streams are filtered and don't count. Buying plays to reach the threshold fails and can put the whole release at risk.
Use the data you have
Spotify for Artists shows which cities your listeners are in and which playlists they found you through. If you already have a few German listeners, find out how they got there, and repeat that rather than buying plays.
